I Love My 4-Day Weekends

posted Sat, 07/12/08

What will we do today?

     Fish?

Hike some waterfalls in the Gorge?

     Find something new to do?

We'll have to kick some young butt out of bed & make some decisions.

Here's what we did -

We started off fishing:

Gaelen kicked butt and outfished Michael and I:

He learned how to clean them after he caught them:

I did 'catch' a salamander - at least on film a chip:

We went up to the Columbia Gorge.

Today I took them ice skating.  Note the "them"...  RevMedic does not skate - ice or otherwise.  Likewise, RevMedic does not ski, skateboard, or dive after errant balls in any sport.  See, the RevMedic is not the most coordinated person in the world, and has yet to break any bones in his aging body.  He is not about to start now.

Michael shares my coordination:

Gaelen actually showed some talent.  Of course, he is the one with the battle scars and broken arm.

I love the 4 on/4 off schedule.  It's like a mini-vacation every week.  We're already making plans to head back to the Columbia River Gorge for more hiking and exploring.  Likewise we want to fish again, and I think they'll probably want to skate again soon.
